Description

As many of my Facebook followers know, I'm currently on an elimination diet to figure out the triggers for Rosacea. One of the things I've had to eliminate is coffee...*sob*.

I love my morning ritual of sipping on coffee while sitting outside so I tried to think of a substitute drink. Honestly, tea wasn't going to cut it. I wanted that creamy drink that I get from my coffee and almond milk. So, I decided to try a turmeric latte and surprisingly, I really like it!

Turmeric is a potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. Curcumin is the main active ingredient in turmeric and ground turmeric is packed full of it. Black pepper is often paired with turmeric as it helps the curcumin get absorbed in the bloodstream.

Ginger is full of antioxidants and is great for digestion and our immune system.

Cinnamon is also great for us. It is loaded with antioxidents, has anti-inflammatory properties, helps to lower blood pressure, cholesterol and boosts metabolism. Unfortunatley, cinnamon is a common trigger for Rosacea suffers so it's out for my elimination period, but if you don't react to it, definitely use it. It's delicious!

I used Sukrin Gold as the sweetener as I love the flavour of it. It reminds me of honey and is perfect in a warm drink. You can use any keto sweetener though.

Instructions

  1. Place all ingredients except for the sweetener in a small saucepan over medium heat.

  2. Slowly bring to the boil, whisking gently.

  3. Once boiling, remove from the heat and whisk the sweetener in until dissolved.

  4. Pour into your coffee mug and enjoy while hot.
